This is a wonderful 1940s evening bag that is covered in black beading. The purse has an intertwined beaded two strand handle and has a zipper top closure. The zipper is stamped Prentice Streamline - G.E. Prentice Mfg was a Connecticut based manufacturer. The body of the purse is made in a rectangular form that flares in depth out to the bottom and tapers in width. The top of the purse is covered with a beaded flounce. The inside of the purse is lined in black - it has a pocket built into the lining on one side but that pocket is unstitched on one side.

Sizing: 9 in width across the top and 7 3/8 across the bottom. It has a depth of 3 3/8 across the bottom and has a height of 5 1/4, exclusive of its handle. The handle / carrying strap has a fall of 4 3/4.
Condition: Aside from the aforementioned unstitched pocket, it is in very good condition with with no wear, tear, stains or odour. This purse looks like it saw little if any use and was well cared for over the years.
